RDS has teamed up with the Alliance’s Executive Consultant Select Group (ECSG) to present a special On The Road Workshop four times in the next several months in four different locations.

Board Ambassadors: Carrying the Mission to the Community (Engaging the Board in Development without Trespassing or Fear)

RDS workshops draw members from across the United StatesBoard Ambassadors, a one-day workshop will provide attendees with the tools to work most effectively with board members as ambassadors to potential donors.  It will be facilitated by fundraising experts, skilled in successful nonprofit human service fundraising.  See the bottom of this article for registration information.

This highly interactive workshop will explore the role of board members in communicating the importance of mission and impact of the organization to prospective donors within their personal networks. Attendees will learn how to empower your board members to create comfortable conversations on mission and vision, and lay the foundation for successful solicitation of charitable gifts.

Presented four times throughout 2010 in four different locations, this workshop will also feature fundraising experts who are skilled in successful nonprofit human service fundraising.

The goals for the workshop are:

  • Your board members will understand the basic business model that drives a charitable mission and necessitates philanthropic capacity to support the mission.
  • Your board members will understand the basic principles of philanthropy, the current trends, and appreciate the pivotal role of the board in stewardship.
  • Your staff and board will create and communicate a compelling and clear message that engages the community and donors.
  • You will be able to apply these concepts and ideas to your unique circumstances and community.
